<p>I am in the Bahamas for December at the Sivananda Ashram Teacher Training.  I am here to develop powerful discipline, excellent physical fitness, and peace of mind.  Also to learn how to teach yoga to others.</p>

<p>The training is rigorous with a demanding schedule.  </p>
<p>Since one of my main intentions for the month is discipline, <strong>my goal for this week is being on time.</strong>   </p>
<p>I am giving my word too absolutely be on time to every session- meditation and chanting, yoga, philosophy studies, chores, meetings, all of it.</p>
<p>I have an alarm clock, a watch and I have given my word to a man from Ontario who is tenting next to me.  We agreed to check on each other especially in the AM when we have to be up at 5:30.</p>

<p style="text-align: center;">A 9 Question Process That Could  Save Your  Marriage<br />
Or Transform Any Area of Your Life</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">This line of questioning empowers us to create breakthroughs in areas of life where we are ready for the “next level” of success and fulfillment.</p>
<p>I started out my career as a <a href="http://www.baltimorehealthcoach.com">nutrition and health coach</a> supporting people to transform their relationship with food- despite years of failure with dieting.  In the process I learned universal principles that apply to any area of our lives.  <strong></strong></p>
<p><strong>Basic premise: </strong></p>
<p>How we view the world (life, others and ourselves) dictates our experience of the present, the actions we will take, and ultimately how the future will turn out.  If we want a new experience we must choose a new perspective.</p>
<p>This is one of the <em>3 Laws of Performance</em> &#8211; a book by Steve Zaffron and David Logan  <strong></strong></p>
<p><strong>O</strong><strong>ther points: </strong></p>
<p>1) All of our views, even the ones that get us unfortunate results have some payoff (some way that they serve and protect us).</p>
<p>2) Other people’s actions, even the most hurtful ones, are never personal.  <strong></strong></p>
<p><strong>Example from a Client-Graduate: </strong> A man desired a new experience of the  relationship with his wife<strong>.</strong></p>
<p><strong>1) What are the circumstances? </strong></p>
<p>She cheated on me in the past.  We don’t spend a lot of time together.  I want to be with her.</p>
<p>I want more time, I want commitment, I want to be able to trust her.  I want her to be faithful.  I am scared.  I’m not sure how to proceed.</p>
<p>I don’t express myself fully.  I threaten to tell our kids if she does it again.  I don&#8217;t trust.<strong> </strong> <strong></strong></p>
<p><strong>2) What am I experiencing that I don&#8217;t like?</strong></p>
<p>Loneliness, low self-esteem, fear, disconnection, doubt, hopelessness</p>
<p><strong>3) What are the beliefs that got me this experience?</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m not lovable.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;This relationship will always be tainted.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;People don&#8217;t change.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;I need her to be happy.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;I&#8217;d never find another woman, if I left.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;She doesn&#8217;t love me.&#8221;  <strong></strong></p>
<p><strong>4) How have these views served and protected me? </strong></p>
<p>They kept me safe- not leaving my wife to face financial and social risks &#8211; and the risk of never finding another person and feeling even more unlovable.</p>
<p>Gave me something to feel sorry about and an excuse not to focus on success.</p>
<p>Gave me something to hold against her, so she would do what i wanted her to do.</p>
<p>Kept me from opening my heart to her and asking for what I want, inviting her to an amazing relationship- because she might break my trust again.  <strong></strong></p>
<p><strong>5) What do I desire to experience? </strong></p>
<p>A passionate, supportive, loving, honest, amazing, free, forgiving relationship with my wife that we both love. <strong></strong></p>
<p><strong>6) What would I have to believe to have this experience?</strong> <em></em></p>
<p><em>These are the beliefs that he considered would give him a better chance of having the experience he desires.</em></p>
<p>”My mind’s interpretations are not always true.  I get to choose the ones that empower me most.”</p>
<p>&#8220;I am lovable!  I&#8217;m perfect with all my imperfections.&#8221; <em>(My wife cheating does not mean I am not lovable! That was her working out her own stuff.) </em></p>
<p>&#8220;Anything is possible for me and for the my wife and I.&#8221; <em>(we are not destined for the same old experience) </em></p>
<p>&#8220;People do hurtful things when they are hurting inside.  Their actions and words are a call for love. It&#8217;s never personal. Anything but love will be unproductive and create more suffering.&#8221; <em></em></p>
<p><em>(My wife is deserving of forgiveness.  Since I truly desire to stay with her and to have a great relationship with her, my most productive way is forgiveness. )</em> <strong></strong></p>
<p><strong>7) What actions are there to take from this new view?</strong> <strong> </strong><em></em></p>
<p><em>These are the actions he and I came up with together…</em></p>
<ol>
<li>When emotionally upset, go through these questions to find out what      I want and what my most empowered perspective might be.</li>
<li>Regularly meditate, center on my most powerful beliefs, and ask my      heart for guidance.</li>
<li>Communicate openly- being with my experience fully, owning it      fully, sharing it honestly.</li>
<li>Make powerful requests.</li>
<li>Keep powerful boundaries.</li>
</ol>

<p>Of my wife: Be faithful.  Be honest. Share life with me. Spend time with me.  Keep me physically safe.  Forgive me. Love and accept me.  <strong></strong></p>
<p><strong>9) What boundaries will I keep? </strong></p>
<p>My wife and I are faithful and honest.  If not, I move on.  I own my own experience – I don’t blame others and give my power away.</p>

<p>When we eat &#8220;bad&#8221; foods, our mind judges us as bad people.</p>
<p>Bad people are guilty.</p>

<p>What better way to punish a bad food-obsessed person, than with more bad food&#8230; say with Ben and Jerry&#8217;s.</p>
<p>Then its like, &#8220;Screw it! I&#8217;ll just keep eating the ice cream until its all gone.&#8221; Either because there is no hope for the weak, bad person or because the bad person is so sad that she needs comfort.</p>
<p>What better way to comfort than with food!</p>
<p>Morally neutral nutrition is the way to go.  There is just food.  And certain foods give us certain effects.  And certain foods have been associated with certain physical diseases.</p>
<p>So then we can choose from what we want to experience (like health, energy, peace of mind), as opposed to our desire to be &#8220;good&#8221; or perfect.</p>

<p>7 family members were present, including my father.</p>
<p>In front of over 100 people, I powerfully completed the healing of our relationship letting him know how much I love him and that he is my hero.</p>
<p>He really got it, with my whole family there and a boat load of other people to <em>make</em> sure it sunk in.</p>
<p>Life is way to short to have so-so relationships, and honest communication is <em>the</em> most valuable currency in the world.</p>
<p>As a health coach, I love supporting my clients with communication and relationships.</p>
